Tan Sri Datuk Tiong Inspected Earthquake-hit Areas in Sichuan, China
Under the arrangement of Ms Li HaiFeng, Director of China's Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and
the provincial government of Sichuan, Tan Sri Datuk Tiong together with the other overseas Chinese businessmen (exceeding 50)
from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, USA, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong had a 2-day (July 5th - 6th) post-quake reconstruction
inspection on the earthquake worst-hit areas in Sichuan. Tan Sri Datuk Tiong Hiew King was the sole Chinese representative from Malaysia.
On behalf of Sin Chew Daily News' Readers, Tan Sri Datuk Tiong handed over their donations of ¥20,000,000.00 to
Ms Li HaiFeng for reconstruction of 30 primary schools in these areas.
