Sin Chew Media Corporation was the first media of Malaysia to enter cyclone hit disaster areas in Myanmar to deliver aid. The cyclone has killed 130, 000 people.

Tan Sri Datuk Tiong announced that Rimbunan Hijau Group and Yayasan Sin Chew donated US$300, 000 (about RM100 million) to Myanmar cyclone victims. The team as well brought together the first batch of relief supplies worth about US$ 43,000 (about RM140, 000).

     Led by Tan Sri Datuk Tiong Hiew King, Chairman of Rimbunan Hijau Group and Sin Chew Media Corp., the disaster relief team brought together with them the relief funds and a huge amount of relief suppiles.
